Salman Khan 2002 Hit-and-Run Case Final Verdict: Salman Found Guilty

The much awaited verdict of 2015, Salman Khan’s hit-and-run case is finally here. After a period of 13 years, Salman Khan’s 2002 hit-and-run case verdict has been announced by Session court on May 6, 2015.

The Bollywood actor Salman Khan was found guilty by session court judge DW Deshpande. According to judgment passed – Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor has been sentenced to serve five years in Arthur jail for negligent and rash driving in 2002.

On the night on September 28, 2002, after spending an evening with friends at Rain Bar and JW Marriott, Salman Khan was heading back home in his white Toyota Land Cruiser when the accident took place.

While it is still not known whether Salman or his driver was behind the wheels, the Land Cruiser crashed into American Express Bakery on Hill Road junction in Bandra, allegedly running over five footpath dwellers, killing one and seriously injuring four others.

According to latest news reports, the Bollywood actor will not move to high court for bail. After the judge announced its verdict, Salman Khan broke down into tears and sat down.

The verdict also shocked Salman fans, waiting outside the courtroom for the final verdict. Bollywood celebrities have also shown their support towards Salman Khan after the verdict.

On May 6, 2015 the Sessions Court has released the verdict against Salman Khan and proven him guilty in the hit and run case. Salman has been convicted under all the sections that he was booked under.

“The court has found the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor guilty on all counts and specifically under these sections: Section 3 (1) of the Motor Vehicles Act for driving without license, Duty of driver in case of accident or injury under Section 134 of Motor Vehicles Act, Drunk driving under Section 187 of the Motor Vehicles Act, Failing to report involvement of vehicle in an accident under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act and lastly, Rash driving or riding on a public way under Section 279.”

Salman Khan reached yesterday after completing the shooting of his upcoming movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.  Around 200 cr. movies project are still on floor featuring Salman Khan as lead hero.
