Gulab Gang Movie Review – Juhi Chawla overshadows Madhuri Dixit

Before we really start talking about Gulab Gang movie, we would like to first talk about Juhi Chawla’s Villainous role in Gulab Gang movie.

It seems like the trend of negative role by played by Bollywood actors and actress has recently grown in past couple of years.  Juhi’s evil and mean act in Gulab Gang has brought much appreciation for her.

This was the first time when two big Bollywood actresses Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla shared screen together. And, we must say, the evil acting of Juhi Chawla has overpowers Madhuri Dixit acts.

Story: As we all know, the story of Gulab Gang is based on the real life of Sampat Rani, a social activist in Uttar Pardesh who fights against male dominating society. The movie starts with the voiceover of Anil Kapoor who takes us to the world of Rajjo (Madhuri Dixit). Anil Kapoor talks about the story of Rajjo and her struggles in life.

Rajjo runs a group (Gulab Gang) who wears Pink Saree and tries to educate females of their own village and nearby villages. Rajjo lead this group with desi weapons like Laathi-Danda. Their agendas are dowry, social injustice, education, food, electricity and water.

The movie continues, Rajjo decides to fight against a local female corrupt leader Soumitra (Juhi Chawla). The rest of the film is all about the fight between Rajjo and Soumitra.

Movie Review: The role of Rajjo is superbly played by Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit. We must say, her actions have impressed us. Though the movie is based on the life of Rajjo (Madhuri Dixit) but Juhi Chawla has stolen the movie from her.

Juhi Chawla, has totally outshined Madhuri Dixit role in the Gulab Gang movie. It’s so delightful to watch her in a negative role, where she is playing the role of an evil corrupt leader.

The corrupt politician Soumitra has taken complete charge of the movie, she takes revenge from Policemen who doesn’t follow her rules and sends them off duty. She cries in Political speech while addressing local janta.

In the very next scene she blames the corruption and insurance company who haven’t paid the insurance policy of her late husband.

The supporting cast played by Divya Jagdale and Priyanka Bose has also done their job fantastically well in the movie.

Trust, we never felt the need of a male hero in the Gulab Gang movie. Both Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla have done their job superbly. They have definitely set the new trend in Bollywood.

Our Verdict: Go watch the movie.

It would be interesting to see how Gulab Gang will perform on Box office. Will it be able to beat Kangana Ranaut’s Queen Movie opening day box office collection?
