History of Sai Baba

Shirdi Sai Baba temple is located in a small town of Ahmednagar, Maharashtra India. The Sai temple is devoted to Saint Sai Baba, who was also very famous as Fakir among his devotes. Both Hindu and Muslims communities’ shows a great respect to Sai Baba even after his life.

Sai Baba was an Indian Saint; his date of birth is still unknown he passed away in 15 October 1958. Baba’s body was placed in the Sai Temple, Shirdi.

How to reach Shirdi

Mumbai to Shirdi by Bus

The road between Mumbai to Shirdi is excellent except in certain parts. Generally, it takes 4 hours of time from Mumbai to Shirdi, if you are not stuck in any road jam, though there are not many. But, as a high number of tour operators use this road to offer exclusive Shirdi tour packages.

Pune to Shirdi by Bus

In case you are coming from Pune, it will take around 5 hours to complete the journey between Pune to Shirdi.

Bangalore to Shirdi by Bus

The journey from Bangalore to Shirdi takes minimum 20 hours from Bus. The journey between Banglore to Shirdi is long. Our travel guide experts recommend traveling by sleeper buses.

Shirdi by Car: If you are planning to visit Shirdi by car, you can use Ahmednagar-Manmad State highway Number 10. The highway is 15kms far from Kopargaon and 83kms from Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.

Shirdi by Train:  Shirdi Sai Mandir is very well connected with trains. You can also visit Shridi by train. Important trains for Shirdi temple from important cities like:

  • Mumbai (250KM)
  • Nasik (80 KM)
  • Shirdi Sai Nagar (2KM from Sai Samadhi)
  • Manmad (65KM from Shirdi)
  • Kopragaon (15KM from Shirdi)

Shirdi by Taxi: If you are adventurous like our travel guide experts who likes to travel in taxi and enjoy their full road trip. We will suggest you to visit Shirdi by taxi. The reason why we are not recommending your own car because, taxi drivers are expert and know the entire shortcuts to reach Shirdi. Also, they could provide you all the tourist information and can be your travel guide too.

To reach Shirdi by taxi you can hire a cab from station till Shirdi, Sai Mandir. You can also take taxi from Nasik to Shirdi, the cost of standard taxi is around Rs. 800-100.

If you are visiting from Manmad, one can hire a taxi to Shirdi that would cost you around Rs. 600-800.  From Kopargaon to Shirdi by taxi will cost around Rs 200-300.
